We can be heroes in our lives, everyone of us. Ancestral traditions, mindsets, obstacles, struggles, suffering, transformation, and hope are just a few of the topics that Grace Julius and I chat about during Episode 057 of the Choose 2 Think Podcast. Grace shares his personal testimony and journey of not only coming home to Christ but also of launching initiatives to change his village in the Mukono District of central Uganda. He is a young visionary, a hero in his own right, with an undying passion for God and love for people. And how exactly does he demonstrate God's love? In 2015, Grace Julius launched Grassroots Ministry that aims to preach the Gospel and Care for the most vulnerable children and elders in Uganda. A quote on their website is from Bono: "God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house. God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives. God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war. God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them." Grace Julius puts his belief into action by fanning his courage into flame and by trusting God to make the difference in the lives of those he serves. His philosophy is to love by going and giving. In this way people see the hand of God working in their daily lives despite adverse scenarios and conditions. They are forever changed and influenced by receiving simple blessings such as clothing and food. Grace Julius also serves as Editor of Unwoke Magazine. If you stay tuned to the very end of this episode, you'll hear a few goats bleating from the village. Of course, Rico would not be undone. He chimes in to show the goats whose boss.
