Ever struggle with these issues?
Rhonda speaks about the ORPHAN HEART. We take a deep dive into what this actually means as well as how to find the path that leads to complete healing. In the interview, Rhonda shares so many stories from . . . Did you know that there are a few things that God "expects" from us, His kiddos? Maybe your mind goes to Micah 6:8 like mine: And what does the LORD require of you During my study of Psalm 40 for the upcoming Choose 2 Think Podcast episode, I learned a few other action items to add to this equation.
Matter of fact, God tells us that He desires 4 things from us. Can you guess what these action items are? This is a question I ask myself OFTEN about my thought life (it's like a mental sieve):
Do my thoughts partner me with God OR put me in some kind of twisted agreement with the enemy of my soul? If I discover a particular thought is not something God would "say" to me, I practice the art of delete/paste. I delete, cancel, stop that thought dead in its tracks and replace it with God’s Truth. In doing so I find peace (and relief!) and MY EMOTIONS follow suit! But what if the thought PERSISTS? Some scientists say that we have about 60k thoughts daily. Others say it's waaaaay less, more like 6k.
And of these thoughts, the National Science Foundation postulated that 80% are negative and 95% repetitive (2005 study). Another study in that same year from Cornell suggested that 97% of our worries are actually unfounded. Since I'm in the Choose 2 Think business, this information is quite fascinating to me. Why? Because our thoughts literally affect our brains. And if I'm having a gazillion negative thoughts daily and I'm repeating them, well, that's a recipe for one very weary, dissatisfied, and downtrodden noggin. So what's a feller to do? Making our identity in Christ our foundation for living may be the million dollar goal for most believers.
After all, God accepts, secures, and gives us significance with basically one purpose: to advance the kingdom while giving Him glory. The snag is that if we don't know exactly WHO we are in Christ, we may stumble a bit on our mission. In other words, if we don't believe God's affirmations and declarations about us and really let those sink way down deep into our souls, then our light may not be shining as brightly as it could. The end result? We may feel like a failure, less than, not enough, unworthy, incapable, and we may lose hope and inspiration along the way. So what's the remedy? |
