Is recovery possible?
Perhaps what I love most about my friend Wendy is her COURAGE.
And her TRANSPARENCY.
And her DESIRE for GOD.
And her DISCIPLINE.
Okay, I'll stop (but I really could go on)!
Wendy is truly remarkable, and she's on a roll to influence lives and extend a hand to those who need HOPE, ACCOUNTABILITY & MOTIVATION to climb "mountains" that loom before them.
Forget New YEAR'S resolutions--How about a New LIFE Resolution that leads to TRANSFORMATION?!
And exactly HOW does she do this?
Apparently, we're gaining weight during Covid, a phenomenon fondly called "The Quarantine 15." And it's no wonder, right?! The sad news is that America already had a weight problem that has only grown over these last 9 months.
According to Statista, 26% of US adults are inactive and 31% are obese (the highest rate in the WORLD!). The cause? Nearly half of all Americans conclude that main contributors for obesity are inactivity and a poor diet.
Our daily routines have changed drastically and our stress levels have skyrocketed in 2020. The gyms are closed, and we stock up on prepackaged foods or takeout. How do we cope with all the fear and the unknowns? To what do we turn in our time of need?
For some folks, it's Food.
Though we may be more inactive than ever and though we may not be choosing the most healthy foods during this long and troublesome season, there is another culprit at play as well, and we tend to shy away from addressing this all-too-familiar foe when it comes to food.
Making our identity in Christ our foundation for living may be the million dollar goal for most believers.
After all, God accepts, secures, and gives us significance with basically one purpose: to advance the kingdom while giving Him glory.
The snag is that if we don't know exactly WHO we are in Christ, we may stumble a bit on our mission. In other words, if we don't believe God's affirmations and declarations about us and really let those sink way down deep into our souls, then our light may not be shining as brightly as it could.
The end result? We may feel like a failure, less than, not enough, unworthy, incapable, and we may lose hope and inspiration along the way.
So what's the remedy?
