It is with such pleasure that I sat down to speak with Rickey Hill just days before the feature film THE HILL made its cinematic debut. I was armed with questions to ask him, such as

How did you handle insults, ridicule, and criticism from others? From yourself?

When did you come to know Jesus? How has your faith evolved over the years?

What message would you give someone who is just about ready to quit, to give up on their dreams?
Playing baseball aside, what is your greatest victory in life?

THE HILL is a heartwarming true-life drama that follows the journey of Rickey Hill, a young man with an extraordinary talent for baseball, growing up impoverished in Texas. Despite facing a degenerative spinal disease and wearing leg braces, Rickey's gift for hitting the ball is exceptional. His stern father, a pastor, discourages Rickey from playing baseball due to concerns about injury and wanting him to follow in his religious footsteps.

As Rickey grows older, he becomes a baseball phenomenon, catching the attention of a legendary major league scout. However, his dream of playing professional baseball threatens to divide his family, particularly with his father's disapproval. The film explores themes of perseverance, faith, and talent as Rickey navigates his path towards achieving his deepest aspirations.
