Yes! This is EXACTLY how I feel on some days!!! I'm like: Who stole my body and mind? Where's my energy?! And don't worry! I'm all about slowing down and smelling the roses. You know, being present in life! And I truly value hard word, accomplishments, and all the fruit! But...there are days when I feel like this dude on the tree limb. So I'm in this 36-day DECLUTTERING challenge (that I created for crying out loud!) that is about to have my hiney! (How we say it in Kentucky.) It's giving me a good run on my THOUGHTS! And, whoosh, that's my ministry, right?! To cut things short since we both have things to do!!!! -- I've discovered 3 things that might just help you when you're just feeling.... for lack of better word...MEH. These action items might just help you turn procrastination into productivity. Let's goooooo. (PSSSTTT.... try a cup of coffee or a diet coke - that might just offer you a nice perk, too!) Am I right or am I right? THE 3 A'S TO FIGHT PROCRASTINATION____________
1) ACCOUNTABILITY. Get an accountability team! Find someone who's in this with you! It's a whole lot more fun when you're toiling with a buddy or two. It'll kick your motivation into higher gear. 2) ACTION. Overcome inertia with action. Remember that the motivation really comes AFTER the action. Too often, we think we have to be motivated before we act. False. Start the action and just watch motivation arise. And by the way, do NOT dialogue with yourself about whether you should clean out that closet or run the errand. Just do it! No discussion. Choose NOT to think to much about this chore! 3) ASKING. Ask God to help! Yeah, we wanna include Him in everything really. He even cares about the small stuff in our lives. We may just need a high dose of worship music or some great podcast (uh hum....C2T, anybody?!) or an audio book to have running in the background while we work. You can also ask a FRIEND for help! There ya have it. Find a work partner, get moving, and ask for help! That's it! Let's do it, friend!!! :) Comments are closed.
