3 Principles to Engage Today to Play Your Very Best

1. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR OPPONENT - Greet each encounter with fresh eyes and a new perspective. If you're in to assumptions, assume that you will have to play your heart out despite your opponent and any past games you have played with them. Your pickleball opponent as well as the enemy of your soul likely knows your weaknesses and will capitalize on them. Do your best to stay focused and watch the ball.  As far as I can tell, there's no easy sailing in life as far as the devil is concerned especially if you are a Kingdom Contributor. Stay alert!
2. NEVER MAKE EXCUSES  - Excuses are measly attempts at justifying your unforced or forced errors.  Lay down your pride. Play your very best despite any adverse conditions. After all, everyone playing is impacted just as you are which levels the playing field. Although our heavenly Father graciously listens to our complaints and excuses, He may remind you that He created you for a purpose and that your job is to simply get with it!  Don't allow your self-talk to persuade you not to take action! Instead, focus on who God is, what He says about you, and what He says about your situation.
3. ALWAYS COME PREPARED TO PLAY - In the literal sense, take care of yourself as you enter competitions. This kinda goes without saying. Make sure you're hydrated, relaxes, wear sunscreen, etc. Spiritually, battle up, Warrior! Put on the full armor of God! Remember that although the battle belongs to the Lord, you still have a responsibility to suit up daily for the untold trials or hardships you may encounter. Be prepared!
