Q:  Excuse me.  What is a podcast anyway? (interview with self)

Check out that blue ICE mic! I upgraded from a $7 mic to this one for my podcast recordings. Boy, what a difference this has made! Love my blue snowball!

A:  A podcast is basically an audio file that is made accessible AT NO CHARGE!  using the internet and that can be downloaded to your personal device (phone or computer).  Basically podcasts are like radio shows that are made available in episodes or regular installments.  New episodes are received by listeners automatically.

Q:  How do I listen to and/or download the podcast?
A:  Podcast episodes are "housed" on podcast hosting companies.  There are quite a few companies that do this type of service, and they create free apps so that listeners can visit their app store to snag the app or visit their websites from your desktop computer.  Each podcast hosting company hosts thousands of podcasts about an incredibly diverse and wide range of topics.  It is easy to search for ones you might be interested in.

To listen, simply go to your app store to find the podcasting host app (most popular apps list below), install the app on your device, then open and search "Choose 2 Think" or by my name.  You can either listen right there OR download to listen later offline (good option if you are conserving phone data).

Or if you don't want to mess with any apps, just click right here to listen anytime!

Q:  Where can I find the Choose 2 Think Podcast?
A:  Current C2T episodes can be found on the following hosting sites:  Spotify, Apple podcasts, Google podcasts, Pocketcasts, RadioPublic, Breaker, and Overcast.   Go to your app store on your phone to download the free app of your choice, search for Choose 2 Think, and then subscribe.  OR from your desktop, you can visit their websites listed below:
Spotify
Apple Podcasts

Google Podcasts
Pocketcasts
RadioPublic
Breaker
Overcast

Please note:  My podcast is created using ANCHOR.
Feel free to visit C2T podcast there to visit
and be notified when episodes are published.

Don't want to install an app?  Simply visit my public site on Anchor

and listen to episodes there as well!

Q:  Why do you ask me to rate, write a review, and subscribe?
A:  Because I'm in the podcasting "business" to eventually earn a living via sponsor ads, listener support, and affiliate marketing.  My short-term goal is to record one episode each week (or 52 for the  year 2020) and then to launch an online course in 2021.  I will also keep my weekly blog going as well.  When listeners rate, write a review, and subscribe to my podcast show, ratings increase and more folks can more easily find my show.  It would mean the world to me if you would share and help me to encourage other folks in their Christian walk.

Q:  Why did you decide to begin podcasting?
A:  Everyone has things that they really, really like to do, wouldn't you say?  Well, for me, my passion, so to speak, is writing and teaching.  I have a real desire to help others achieve optimal emotional health and wholeness and to bridge the gap between Biblical knowledge and the everyday practical application of that knowledge.  That's where my line "put feet to your faith" comes in.  I've worked really hard over the last 3 years to overcome bouts of depression and toxic thinking, and with God's help I would love to share what I have learned with you and with others who are also hurting and may feel overwhelmed by guilt, shame, discouragement, and general emotional discontent.

People kept telling me that they didn't have a whole lot of time to read --heck, I don't even read very many things at all myself! --but that they DID love to listen to podcasts.  Readers, friends, family members requested that I put information out there in audio format to make it much easier for them to stay connected.  I personally listen to several podcasts, especially when I'm driving or working around the house!  I love to learn and I'm always on the look out for inspiration and encouragement.  That is exactly what I would like to provide those values for my listeners as well!

Q:  What will your Choose 2 Think episodes be about?
A:  I use popular Psalms as the back drop, add in a few personal stories to keep things authentic, give practical applications, and there ya go.  Sometimes there is even homework (say wha?!) if you're up to it!  The faith-based episodes are somewhat devotional in style, but quite transparent and even whimsical.  From time to time, you will hear interviews with local entrepreneurs and shining stars about the impact gratitude has had on their personal and professional journeys.

I hope you:
  • learn something;
  • feel inspired and motivated, validated and encouraged;
  • make a concrete decision to take a step in a better direction if necessary;
  • and influence and help others by your good example--in other words, shine your light!

Q:  How long are the episodes?
A:  Between 18-30 minutes long.

Q:  Why did you call it Choose 2 Think?
A:  Because we all choose to think--listeners can relate to this action!  I want to share how I have overcome toxic thinking by choosing to think what I am thinking about.  Taking thoughts captive is a 24/7 job, and it requires determination, persistence, and consistency to really become emotionally well.  If you are longing to be healed in any emotional area, choosing to think is just the first step.    This imperative is a reminder that we do have a say in how we feel and behave.  With God's help, when we choose to think, we can influence our own brains literally.  Our thoughts influence our feelings and emotions, which in turn affect our actions.  As believers, we've been given the mind of Christ--isn't it high time we discover exactly how to use it?

Q:  When did you start your journey?
A:  Technically in 2016.  I went through Dr. C. Leaf's 21 Day Detox - an amazingly enriching program that really helped me spearhead this process of renewing my mind.   I haven't looked back!

Q:  Just how excited are you about this new adventure?
A:  Let me show you the pic to illustrate my excitement in case you missed my insta post:
