![]() Although I exchange the glory of God for an image like the Hebrew children or I exchange God's blessings for a bowl of soup like Esau or I deny the very power and influence of Jesus's life and purpose like Peter or I am blinded by my own righteousness and pride like Paul or I depend on my own strength like Samson or in anger I throw up my fist against God and strike the rock instead of speaking to it like Moses or in desperation I wrestle with God like Jacob and walk away with a limp... I can change. I can learn. I can be restored. I can grow wiser. Field trip learning is powerfully impacting because it often leads us to a surrendered and humbled position before God where we are sincerely and perhaps desperately ready to learn no matter the cost. It's been said that it is much better to listen and learn in the "classroom"; however, if you've taken a field trip or two, can you see what you have learned along the way may have brought you closer to God? Try not to beat yourself up because you have learned some valuable life lessons the "hard way." It's never too late to start doing what is right. Stay as close as you can to God's shadow as you journey, but rest assured that if you wander off, the path back home is just a prayer away. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 1 Peter 5:10 Comments are closed.
