Whoosh! I've been blogging for over six years (Single Sojourner), and now I am half a year in to my "rebranded" blog (Start with a Grateful Heart); and I couldn't be more excited! It's taken me a bit of time to really determine my purpose, my audience, and my business plan. Check out this interview I had with myself! If you are new to business and you are now chasing your bliss with more determination than ever, use these 10 questions to help you better define what you're all about! Q1: What makes you unique as a Christian blogger? A: Folks say that I am transparent, down-to-earth, real, and that I really put the practical applications into play in my Christian walk. Some find this really encouraging and uplifting. They see me in my struggles and how I'm working hard to overcome toxic thinking, yet they also see that although my life takes many twists and turns, my faith and reliance on God persists. Q2: Why the website and blog rebranding? A: In the last three years, I have been working really hard to overcome toxic thinking and mindsets. I wanted a new website name that best captured what has helped me the most to beat mood swings and depression (and menopause!). To Start with a Grateful Heart is the key in my opinion to healthy thinking and daily living. Q3: How do you best define yourself? A: I am an educator, speaker, and writer. I am a mom and grandmother, a daughter, a sister, a niece, a cousin, a friend, a dog owner. [Have you seen Rico the MorKY?] And it goes without saying that I am a Daughter of the King. God is who gives me my identity and purpose. I long to operate fully in the giftings He has bestowed upon me. Q4: What is your life or aGH ministry mission? A: My mission is basically 3-pronged:
Q5: Who is your audience? A: In a broad sense, basically anyone who needs encouragement and motivation. Those are my strong suits. In a more specific slant, Christian women, 20's and above. I've had the privilege of mentoring a few young mothers as well as conducting my first 7-Day Challenge where I had the opportunity to serve as a "life" coach. Set the date: Another Challenge coming in November! Q6: What are your pastimes and hobbies? A: Mostly I love spending time with my family, writing, reading, studying, playing board games, walking, loving on Rico the MorKY, hiking, and traveling. Q7: What is your long-term professional goal? A: Although I LOVE teaching Spanish at the university level, I would love to flip things around and to transition to full-time ministry and part-time teaching. I am starting that transition now. Q8: What are your short-term ministry/business goals?
Q9: What can your readers or followers expect? A: Consistency on my part. I aim to show up via the blog and with a YouTube video once a week. I publish a monthly newsletter and give away free content (usually a downloadable worksheet or two). Each day, I create a "gratitude" image with a message to encourage and motivate (posted on Fb and the Gram). Also, there is the 7-Day Challenge - a crash course in jump starting your #1 goal! Q10. What might your readers do to help you? A: I could really use help, and it would only take seconds!
