I don't know about you, but often when I'm looking for comfort, that bag of M&M's seems to be calling my name.
In Part 2 of our podcast series on REJECTION, I'll share with you how I've slowly managed to fairly consistently look toward God for comfort instead of the chip bag! I still struggle with this to this day because let's face it - I get a quick dopamine hit with the chips; whereas God sometimes offers comfort in different ways, and the dopamine seems to "flow" at a much slower rate. Finding comfort may require sacrificing the instant dopamine hit and learning to be satisfied through our obedience and by choosing our thoughts wisely. I think we can grow in wisdom which will also help us to choose to find comfort in more healthier ways. We do, after all, have the mind of Christ, yes? What do you think?
